Educational Psychology
Psychologists are available in Mt Eden, Pakuranga, and West Auckland.
At times we can offer appointments in Northland by special arrangement.
When you contact Edpsych:
- Your psychologist will discuss your needs and select the services that are best for you and your child.
- Gather some background information about your child’s early development, family history and experience with education.
- Complete a face to face assessment using psychometric tests if appropriate.
- Provide a written report using plain English for you to share with teachers or other professionals.
- Meet with you after you have taken time to read the report to discuss implications.
What kind of work do we do:
- Assessment for learning and behaviour. Comprehensive assessments to understand a learner’s cognitive strengths, learning needs, and academic profile. We use tools such as the WISC, WIAT, WAIS, and other standardised measures to give clear, practical guidance for families and schools. Common reasons for assessment include learning differences, giftedness, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, exam accommodations, and clarity around next steps.
- One to one parenting support. Using understanding and experience in behavioural psychology we will work together to develop a plan to support your parenting goals.
- Study Re‑Engagement and Exam Preparation Robyn works with mature students who are returning to study or facing high‑stakes exams. Her support blends practical learning strategies with supportive guidance to help students rebuild confidence, manage overwhelm, and approach study with clarity and purpose. The focus is on understanding individual learning needs and creating realistic, effective study routines.
- Professional supervision. We provide supervision for psychologists, and education professionals. This can be face to face in Auckland or online if you are based outside of Auckland.
